"Keep the world smiling"
“Let’s be honest: A good deal is only a good deal if everyone can keep smiling.”
I developed this principle many years ago when I was an entrepreneur in Vietnam, managing thousands of employees. I have remained true to my vision of "keeping the world smiling" to this day.
For us as a roastery, we strive to ensure that the entire value chain takes place in such a way that everyone can smile along the way.
It starts with nature, which retains its smile because we only buy organically grown beans. The farmers who work hard on the coffee plantations do so with a smile because they are paid fairly. The cooperative that holds the farm together can use the money to build infrastructure, maintain schools, provide medical care, and support a functioning community.
Fairtrade is so much more than just a nice word. On our website, you can learn about every bean we buy, where it comes from, and what's possible thanks to Fairtrade. It'll put a smile on your face!
The importer who supplies us with coffee should also be able to profit from it, because he too is doing a good job. We buy it knowing that our customers share our values and are willing to pay a few francs more per kilo of freshly roasted, top-quality Fairtrade coffee.
Here at our roastery in the Seehallen, we also have a great workplace. Team spirit, respect, and achieving goals together are what sustain us as a team. We pay fair wages and are proud of our friendly team who greet our customers with a smile.
So when you sit down in the morning with your coffee and a smile flits across your face after the first sip because it tastes so incredibly good, then everyone, from nature to you, has managed to keep their smile; on the long journey from seed to cup. That's what a truly good coffee tastes like: ONESTO COFFEE, that's what it is.
P.S. A little math problem: One cup of coffee requires approximately 10g of ground coffee. That means you can make about 100 cups of coffee with one kilo of coffee. If you pay around CHF 25 per kilo for our coffee, which is about CHF 7 more than for commercial supermarket coffee, that means you're only paying 7 cents more per cup. And that's for all the joy you bring to yourself and everyone involved! CHF 0.07! Thank you for helping to make the world smile with your coffee consumption!
